Transportation

Volunteer Bridge students are responsible for their own transportation to and from all PSCC campuses.* Students can drive, walk, or bike; carpool with classmates; or take public transportation when available.

Volunteer Bridge students attending the PSCC Division Street campus can take the Knoxville Area Transit (KAT) system Route 17 to and from campus, with a short walk between the bus stop and the campus. A $130 student pass, granting unlimited rides for 130 days, is available to UT and PSCC students and can be purchased in the UT Student Ticket Office or at any PSCC campus. The Division Street campus is also accessible via City of Knoxville Greenways for those wishing to bike or walk. Of course, students are also welcome to use their personal transportation or carpool with one another to reach this campus.

Although it will not match class schedules exactly, the KAT system is a good option for students attending PSCC’s Magnolia Street campus as well. Public bus service does not extend to PSCC’s Hardin Valley, Blount County, or Strawberry Plains locations. Students should carefully consider their transportation options when determining which PSCC campus to attend and whether they want to keep a vehicle on UT’s campus.

Volunteer Bridge students who wish to keep a vehicle on UT’s campus must purchase a non-commuter parking pass for summer ($97) and another non-commuter parking pass for fall and spring ($285). Please note that these rates are subject to change. Also, motorcycle permits are offered at different rates. Visit the UT Parking & Transit Services website for all current UT parking pass rates.

PSCC students may park in designated lots at PSCC campuses without a hangtag or decal for free.

*In fall 2015, UT will pilot free bus service between UT and PSCC’s Hardin Valley campus. This free bus service is only for those attending PSCC’s Hardin Valley campus. Continued service in spring 2016 will depend on use of the service in fall. The fall bus service to PSCC’s Hardin Valley campus will follow this schedule:
